What Can CCTA Show?
Coronary arteries

Why Is CCTA Performed?
CCTA provides physicians with detailed information about the coronary arteries and may be recommended when a closer evaluation of coronary artery health is needed.
It may be considered based on symptoms, cardiovascular risk factors, family history, previous testing, or other clinical findings.
Important: A physician's order is required for CCTA.
For a more detailed analysis of coronary plaque, CCTA can be enhanced with Cleerly.

Preparing for Your CCTA
Before Your Appointment
CCTA requires a physician's order and the use of contrast.
Because clear coronary images require the heart to be beating within an appropriate range, patients may be prescribed medication to help lower their heart rate before the examination.
Our team will provide specific preparation instructions before the appointment.
Patients will generally need to:
- Avoid eating for the instructed period before the exam
- Avoid caffeine as directed
- Follow medication instructions provided for the examination
- Follow any additional instructions provided by our imaging team
What to Expect
Prepare
We will provide preparation instructions before your appointment, including information regarding food, caffeine, medications, and arrival.
CCTA examinations are commonly scheduled early in the day because of the preparation requirements.
Scan
Before imaging begins, the team will confirm that your heart rate is within the appropriate range for the examination.
Contrast is administered, and CT imaging is then used to capture detailed images of the coronary arteries.
Analysis & Results
An experienced team of Radiologists reviews your CCTA images and prepares a Radiologist Report.
When Cleerly analysis is included, the coronary CT images also undergo advanced quantitative plaque analysis.
